Kenya continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic with cases steadily rising each day.
The Government has locked down a handful of counties including the capital Nairobi and imposed a night-time curfew as part of containment efforts. A large number of workers in the informal sector have been laid of rendering them unable to sustain themselves and their families due to lack of income.
On the 24th of April 2020, Operation Hope CBO organized a drive to assist some of these families. We were able to assist several families in Kayole, negatively affected by the Covid 19 Pandemic, through distribution of a food basket donated by The Methodist Church of Kenya, Komarock-Christcycles.We were quite encouraged by the joy they openly expressed at receiving these essential needs albeit small in quantity. We would wish to encourage all those who may be in a position to donate to join us in assisting the less fortunate in our society.
